Here is another great, easy picture overlay.

I added a few images with the same overlay so you can see that each photo will need its own adjustments. The opacity levels will be different for each individual photo.
There is no magic number & learning to have a discerning eye takes time.
The opacity on the overlay layer in this image I kept at 48%

I have also included a file with a white background.
I added the overlay to the picture below and did'nt change a thing.
I sorta liked the way it looked with the blown out image.
Now here is an image that it does not work so well with.
I played with it, changing the opacity,

it just didn't matter. It might be the colors or the image placement ,
this image was not going to look good with either of the
included overlays. Beauty is how ever in the eye of the beholder
(so you may very well like the way it looks)...
